The North Carolina football program names Michael Jordan as an honorary captain for Saturday’s game.

Saturday’s game for the North Carolina Tar Heels will be a big one in Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels welcome in defending Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson and nationally ranked Louisville for the first ACC game of the season.

It’s a chance for UNC to rebound off a season opening loss to Cal at home and more importantly, get that first conference win of the season. It’s also a chance build some momentum in the early part of the season.

Along with all of that, a special guest will be in the house.

The football program announced on Monday that Michael Jordan will serve as an honorary captain for Saturday’s game.

Jordan will be an honorary captain for a UNC football game for the first time ever.

The football program joined forces with Jordan Brand for a special sponsorship, making them the second college football team to be sponsored by Jordan Brand joining Michigan.

The Wolverines did something similar in 2016 when Jordan joined Derek Jeter as an honorary captain before a home game.

With Jordan heading out for the coin toss at midfield, it’s going to be an incredible experience at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

If that doesn’t get you pumped up as a player, then I have no idea what will.

The Tar Heels and Cardinals will kickoff at noon E.T. on Saturday as the game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
