The #14 North Carolina Tar Heels controlled the majority of the game in their 87-77 win over the Orange. North Carolina led by as many as 31 with 7:30 remaining, but Syracuse put a little bit of a scare into UNC as they were able to cut the lead down to six with 42 seconds remaining. Caleb Wilsin scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Tar Heels. Henri Veesaar finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. Jonathan Powell added 12 points. For Syracuse, Donne Freeman led the way with 23 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Naithan George had 14 points and four assists.
