After Winthrop closed to within 5, Florida State closed the final 7:30 of the first half on a 23-10 run to take control of the game. Jamir Watkins was the game's leading scorer with 23 points to go with five rebounds and four assists. Malique Ewin recorded a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Taylor Bol Bowen added a double-double of his own with 13 points and 12 rebounds. For Winthrop, Bryace Baker scored a team-high 18 points.
