Game Recap

Penn State 85 Georgia Tech 83

Enhanced Live Box Score

Gani Lawal scored 34 points and added 10 rebounds on 15-20 shooting, but it wasn't enough for the Yellow Jackets who couldn't stop Penn State.  The Nittany Lions had an offensive efficiency of 128 for the game and pretty much scored at will.

Factor of the Game

The factor of this game was the three point shot.  Three point percentage is charted below along with the game flow.  Penn State created separation late in the 2nd half with several three point shots that ultimately led to their win.

Wake Forest 83 Indiana 58

Enhanced Live Box Score

Wake Forest shot 62% from the floor and held Indiana to 38% shooting as they routed the Hoosiers 83-58.  James Johnson led the way with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, while three other Demon Deacons added double-figures.

Factor of the Game

As we talked about earlier this week, Wake Forest's biggest problem has been shot selection.  Against Indiana Wake attacked the rim with nearly half of their attempts as layups and dunks.

Maryland 75 Michigan 70

Box Score

Greivis Vasquez led the way with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists while Eric Hayes (13 pts, 4 asts, 4 rebs), Landon Milbourne (12 pts), and Dave Neal (12 pts, 4 rebs) each added double-figures in the win.

Our content partner Turtle Waxing should have more on this game today.

UNC 98 Michigan St 63

Enhanced Live Box Score

Tyler Hansbrough decided to play against the Spartans and knocked the rust off to a tune of 25 points and 11 rebounds.  Not too bad, eh?  Four other Tarheels added double-figures with Ty Lawson standing out with 17 points, 8 assists, and 7 steals.

Factor of the Game

North Carolina dominated both ends of the floor against the Spartans finishing with an offensive efficiency of 121.6, but it was the defense that I wanted to point out.  The Heels TO% was around 10% compared to the Spartans who turned it over in nearly 30% of their possessions.
