Let's talk about Syracuse Football.

Best / Worst Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | SMU | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Cal | Virginia Tech | NC State |Clemson | North Carolina | Stanford| Wake Forest

ACC 2026 Football Schedule

Syracuse

Fran Brown’s 2 years at Syracuse have been quite the roller coaster. In 2024, Syracuse won 10 games, won a bowl game, and finished in the top 25. It was an amazing year, and one of the most underrated ACC seasons in recent memory. Last year, though Syracuse, in an injury-plagued year, fell to 3-9 and might have been the ACC’s worst team. They didn’t win a game after September 20, and frankly they weren’t even competitive the last 2 months of 2025. No ACC team has had a more up and down 2 seasons. The question is who is the real Syracuse?

Will Go 8-4 (6-3) if:

Syracuse can harness the 2024 season plus the September 2025 stretch of football. Do you realize Syracuse was 13-4 after a 10-3 2024 and a 3-1 start last year. That included thumping Clemson 34-21 at Clemson. When that game ended, Syracuse looked like an ACC contender. QB Steve Angeli was playing at an incredibly high level before his season-ending injury last year. If he returns to form, Syracuse is a totally different team. With a bit of luck, if Syracuse starts the season 5-1 or 4-2, the season could be a surprise. If you beat New Hampshire and UConn, then you need to score a couple of upsets over Cal, Pitt, Virginia or Louisville. It’s not out of the question. The second half of the schedule has no gimmes, with no easy home games, and road games at UNC, NC State and Boston College. Syracuse won’t run the table in either the first or second half of the season, but there’s a shot at 8-4.

Will Go 3-9 (1-8) if:

Syracuse ranks in the 100s again on offense and defense. Syracuse needs significant improvement on both sides of the ball. QB Steve Angeli looked great before his injury. If he doesn’t return to form, the season could fall apart fast. After New Hampshire is a tough game with Cal, at Pitt, at UConn (who beat ACC Champion Duke last year), at Virginia, and Louisville. That’s a 1-5, 2-4 start in a hurry. The backend of the schedule isn’t much easier with SMU, Clemson, at NC State, and Notre Dame. How many games will Syracuse be favored in: 2, 3, and max 4 games?  Angeli might make a difference on offense, but he doesn’t play defense. If the defensive transfers don’t come up big, Syracuse could be giving up tons of yards and points.
