The three biggest ACC football questions of the week. Here we go for Week 11.
Is Notre Dame a big game for Pitt or not?
Despite what Pat Narduzzi says publicly, this is a massive game for the Pittsburgh program. It would be the biggest win for Pitt since at least 2016 when the Panthers beat Penn State. The game is on ABC, Gameday is there, and Pitt could give themselves a shot at an at-large bid even if they win out and don’t make the ACCCG. Is it a must win? No, but it would be one of the biggest wins of the Pat Narduzzi era.
Can Virginia save the ACCCG from Duke?
Duke in the ACCCG and possibly winning it would be the disaster of all disasters for the conference. Duke was 1-3 out of conference; there’s a discussion that a Duke ACC Champion could get left out of the playoff. Virginia looked like a team that could get to the ACCCG themselves and controlled their own destiny before losing to Wake Forest. The status of Virginia Chandler Morris is going to be key. I don’t trust backup Daniel Kaelin going into this one if he plays, I’m afraid.
Does Clemson get closer to bowl eligibility?
Clemson has yet to beat a P4 team with a winning and it’s nearly the middle of November. The Tigers have to win 2 of their last 3, and if you say they beat Furman, then they have to beat Louisville or South Carolina. You know Clemson isn’t a good team, but they aren’t truly awful. They have won 3 of their last 5 games, and should have beaten Duke. Where will Louisville’s head be at after losing to Cal at home, which never should have happened. I think there is a chance Clemson pulls an upset.
