The three biggest ACC football questions of the week. Here we go for Week 10.
Is Virginia on upset alert at Cal?
Is Virginia on upset alert at Cal?
Virginia has had 3 of their last 4 games go to OT, and that 4th game was decided by 2 points. That’s 4 games decided by a total of 14 points. This week they go across the crountry to face a dangerous Cal team and their freshman star QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele. Cal is 5-3 and fighting to get bowl eligible, while Virginia is aiming for Charlotte. The trip out west is never easy. Virginia hasn’t been sharp in recent weeks and nearly lost their last time out against UNC. If their offense stays asleep in this one, you might have a big upset in the ACC. Is the health of QB Chandler Morris going to be a problem going forward?
Will Wake Forest send FSU to 0-5 in the ACC?
Wake Forest won more ACC games in October than FSU has won in nearly 2 years of football. How FSU beat Alabama is one of the great mysteries of the season, but beat them they did. Wake Forest is one of the most surprising teams in the ACC this year. Florida State is a 10-point favorite, but this is one feisty Wake Forest team. This sure feels like if the Deacs get up early, they could send a mentally struggling FSU team off the rails. 0-5 in the ACC for the Noles, yes, it could definitely happen.
Does North Carolina pick up their first ACC win this week?
North Carolina is getting oh so close to their first ACC win. They lost to Cal 21-18, and literally came within inches of beating Virginia. This week, they head to Syracuse, which has lost 4 straight games, with the closest loss by 13 points to SMU. UNC seems to have found a bit of a spark. I think we might see their first ACC win.
