I saw a recent post on Mr SEC.com that ranked the SEC’s Happiest Fanbase in 2013. I thought that was pretty interesting and decided to put something similar together for the ACC. Like Mr SEC, I’m going to stick with 2 Big revenue producing sports, college football and and men’s basketball. Let me explain my criteria…

Let’s just go back 2 years… We know it’s a what have you done for me lately world.

So here’s the point system

National Championship = 10 pts

BCS Win\Final 4 = 7 pts

BCS Appearance\Sweet 16 = 5 pts

Bowl Win\NCAA Basketball Tournament = 3 pts

Bowl Appearance = 2 pts

Football wins = 1 pts

Basketball wins = (.33) pts

2013 – 100% of totals points for that year

2012 – 75% of total points for that year

It’s no surprise that the Florida State fanbase, fresh off their College Football National Title would be the conferences happiest fans. Syracuse has a recent Final 4, and 2 bowl wins for their fans. Clemson has a BCS win. On the other end of the spectrum Boston College has no bowl wins, and no NCAA appearances. Wake Forest doesn’t have even a bowl appearance or any NCAA tournament appearances.

Another way to look at these results is which schools have accomplished the most or in some cases the least in the last two years.

2012 Points 2013 Points Total Points
Florida State 30.25 47.00 77.25
Syracuse 24.25 37.00 61.25
Clemson 16.00 32.33 48.33
Duke 15.00 30.00 45.00
UNC 20.00 23.33 43.33
Miami 10.25 28.67 38.92
Pittsburgh 11.50 23.00 34.50
NC State 18.75 14.00 32.75
Virginia Tech 13.00 14.33 27.33
Georgia Tech 11.75 14.33 26.08
Maryland 7.25 17.33 24.58
Virginia 10.75 9.67 20.42
Boston College 3.75 14.33 18.08
Wake Forest 7.00 8.33 15.33
