The ACC has never looked better at the QB position

Sometimes it’s take the national media a little while to catch on. I tweeted after watching Florida State QB’s Deondre Francois shred the Ole Miss defense to pieces in the 2nd half.

deshaun-watson-starterThe rest of country starting realizing what the ACC had at Quarterback several days later. Anyone think the round-robin of Watson vs Francois vs Jackson won’t be fun?

From ESPN’s Andrea Adelson, who does a pretty solid job covering the ACC, wrote this piece on the ACC’s quarterbacks a couple of days ago.

CBS Sports was next say the Nation’s Best Quarterbacks are in the ACC.

Most of theses pieces focused on Louisville Lamar Jackson, Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, FSU’s Deondre Francois, and Miami’s Brad Kaaya. They deserve it too. We’ve got Heisman candidates and future 1st round NFL picks there.

Every league has some elite QBs, save SEC unless you include Chad Kelly I guess, maybe not this elite, but where the ACC really separates itself is the depth of their QB position.

Jackson, Watson, Francois, and Kaaya are givens, but there is quality depth too.

Justin Thomas at Georgia Tech struggled some last year, but he also led the Yellow Jackets to a top 10 2014 season. He’s quarterbacked the Yellow Jackets to wins over Florida State, Clemson, Georgia, and Dan Mullen’s best Mississippi State the last two years. He’s the most dynamic player on Georgia Tech’s offense.

4 Star Juco transfer Jerod Evans may already be the best QB Virginia Tech has had since Tryod Taylor.

North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky is completing 67% of passes.

Eric Dungey at Syracuse is off to a strong start throwing for 610 yards through 2 games, and he has 65% completion rate with 5 TDs against just 1 interception.

The ACC has never looked better at the Quarterback position.
