The #13 Gamecocks defeated the Hokies, 24-11 in Atlanta. The Hokies trailed 10-8, but two explosive plays by South Carolina blew the game open. Vicari Swain took a punt back 80 yards for a touchdown to start the fourth quarter, and then a LaNorris Sellers 64-yard bomb to Nyck Harbor blew the game open. Kyron Drones was 15-35 passing the ball for 222 yards and two interceptions. He also ran the ball 12 times for 26 yards. Donavon Greene had three catches for 94 yards in his first game as a Hokie. For South Carolina, Sellers completed 12 of 19 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 13 times for 60 yards and another score. Running back Oscar Adaway III ran the ball 14 times for 60 yards, and he caught two passes for 25 yards.
