Wide Receiver will be one of the deeper positions this year in the ACC. Who made the list of the top 5 Wide Receivers in the ACC?

1) Sammy Watkins, Clemson
How do you finish in top 10 in every major ACC receiving statistic and it is considered a disappointing season? When you are as gifted a receiver as Sammy Watkins. By the end of the year Watkins was not even the best receiver on his own team. That honor went to DeAndre Hopkins. That said what I saw of Watkins in the Clemson spring game when had 150 yards receiving tells me he’s ready to return to his freshman form when he took the ACC by storm. Fast and sure handed, Watkins is as good as he wants to be.
2) Stefon Diggs, Maryland
If Watkins slips even just a little, this Maryland receiver is set to take over the title of the ACC’s best receiver. Stefon Diggs was electrifying during a freshman year that saw a Maryland QB situation that can only be described as absolute chaos last year. Diggs had 848 yards receiving on 54 receptions in 2012. If Maryland can get some stability at quarterback, Diggs could have an amazing sophomore season. Randy Edsall has doesn’t done a lot right at Maryland, but getting Diggs to be a Terrapin was one of them.
3) Alex Amidon, Boston College
Who is the leading returning receiver in the ACC in terms of yardage? It’s Alex Amidon of Boston College. Amidon set BC school records for receptions with 78 and yardage with 1,210. He also had 7 touchdowns last season. Not especially big at 5 foot 11, Amidon is sure handed and is faster than you think. The senior has flown under the radar, but there’s no question this is one of the best receivers in the ACC.
4) Rashad Greene, Florida State
Here’s the guy that I think could have a truly breakout season. Rashad Greene is coming off a 57 reception 741 yard year. He’s had over 1300 pass catching yards the last 2 years, and is considered the Seminoles most reliable receiver. He’s one of the fastest players in the ACC too. Greene is high a 4.3 low 4.4 guy. Fast, good hands, and reliable…. That’s a good combination for a WR.
5) Michael Campanaro, Wake Forest
Alex Amidon is the ACC’s leading returning yardage leader, and Michael Campanaro is the the leading returning receptions leader with 79. He did this while dealing with a broken hand last year. You’ll also see Campanaro run the ball from time to time as well. He’s a classic slot receiver, and if he can remain fully healthy, he could have a 90+ reception season.

Keep an eye Devin Street from Pittsburgh. He might be a little unknown to ACC fans, but this is a 6’4 WR that had almost 1000 receiving last year. Guys like UNC’s Quinshad Davis, Miami’s Phillip Dorsett and Duke’s Jamison Crowder just missed the list.
