Ranking the 5 best Tight Ends in the ACC for 2020

Let's take a look at the top tight ends in ACC Football.

1) Brevin Jordan, Miami

Who was the ACC’s number 1 Tightend in 2019? Miami’s Brevin Jordan. Who is the ACC’s number 1 Tightend in 2020? Miami’s Brevin Jordan. The first team All-ACC TE, had 35 receptions for nearly 500 yards in 2019. Add Jordan to Miami list of great past Tight Ends. He’s projected as a 1st or 2nd round NFL pick.

2) Noah Gray, Duke

Noah Gray was the leading returning receiver at Duke with 51 catches to go along with 392 receiving yards and 3 TDs. The second All-ACC player in 2019, was also named a 2nd Walter Camp 2nd Team All-America. Gray is ranked in the top 15 of draftable TE’s for 2021 according to SI.com.

3) Hunter Long, Boston College

It’s a good year for ACC Tight Ends. Hunter Long of BC, led the Eagles last year with 509 yards for a stellar 18.2 yards per catch. That’s a great average for a WR, and almost unheard of for a TE. Long is a NFL prospect, and is projected a 3rd or 4th round NFL pick.

4) Cary Angeline, NC State

Cary Angeline was a bright spot for NC State last year in an otherwise forgettable 2019 for the Wolfpack. He had 25 receptions for nearly 400 yards and 5 TD catches. At 6’7″ he’s a true weapon in NC State’s offense, and was an honorable mention All-ACC pick last season. SI.com has him in the top 20 of draftable TE’s for the 2021 draft.

5) James Mitchell, Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech’s James Mitchell enters 2020 a TE on the rise. Last year, he had 21 catches for 361 yards and a very nice 17.2 yards per reception. The 6’4″ junior TE came in as a highly touted 4 star recruit, and he’s lived up to the hype.
