Who are the top Tight Ends in the ACC this year? Let’s find out.

CamPrevious and Upcoming Rankings

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Offensive Linemen | Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams

1) Cam Serigne, Wake Forest

Cam Serigne is quietly one of the best offensive players in the ACC. Last year he had 30 receptions for 426 yards and 4 TDs. This was after two years with 45+ receptions. At least 1 site has him as the #2 ranked draft eligible TE in college football.

Serigne is a definite NFL prospect and could go as high as the 3rd round.

2) Christopher Herndon IV, Miami

Here’s is player that’s been trending upward since his freshman year. Christopher Herndan IV, of Miami, has seen his reception total go from 0 to 18 to 28 last year. He averaged nearly 12 yards a reception with 2 TDs.

Herndon will have big shoes to fill replacing NFL draft choice David Njoku, but Miami coaches see Herndan as leader on this years Miami team.

3) Ryan Izzo, Florida State

FSU always seems to produce quality Tight Ends. Ryan Izzo looks another one. Last season Izzo had 19 receptions for 227 yards and a TD. He also has reputation for being a solid blocker, and was a honorable mention freshman All-American by some services in 2015.

4) Tommy Sweeney, Boston College

Tommy Sweeney was one of Boston College’s top pass catchers last season. He was third on the team in receptions with 26 and receiving yards with 353. He also had 3 TDs last season.

Sweeney has the potential to be a NFL prospect and 6’5″ and 258 lbs.

5) Chris Cunningham, Virginia Tech

When you play behind Bucky Hodges, playing time can be hard to come by. Chris Cunningham showed enough flashes of quality play last year to make this list though. On just 6 receptions he had has as many touchdowns TDs as any player on we have in our top 5 Tight Ends.

He was highly ranked coming out of High Schools, and I think he is head towards a solid season.
