1) Jordan Leggett, Clemson
Jordan Leggett has always been naturally gift player, he just didn’t always play like it. Now he is, coming off 40 reception 2015 season. He’s made several pre-season All-American lists, and is another pass catching threat for the Clemson Tigers. He’s projected as an NFL 2nd or 3rd round pick. If he continues his development, the senior could move into the 1st round.
2) Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech
New Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente has Isaiah Ford at WR, and he has great complimentary weapon at TE in Bucky Hodges. He had 40 catches for 530 yards in 2015. Hodges and Leggett could go back an forth all season as the ACC’s top Tight End.
3) Jaylen Samuels, NC State
Is Jaylen Samuels a RB or a TE? One of the most versatile players in the ACC, he’s officially listed as a TE, and caught 65 passes last season. He was a first team All-ACC selection, so don’t forget him when thinking about the ACC’s top Tight Ends.
4) Cam Serigne, Wake Forest
This TE had more catches that either Jordan Leggett or Bucky Hodges. It was Cam Serigne of Wake Forest who had 46 receptions last year for 562 yard. Serigne is probably the Deacs best offensive player. Should he declare for the NFL Draft as a RS-JR, he’s been projected as anywhere from a 3rd to 5th round pick. He has NFL ability that’s for sure.
5) David Njoku, Miami
If you are looking for a rising star in the ACC at TE, it might be David Njoku of Miami. Njoku averaged over 17 yards a catch on 21 receptions last season for the Canes. A former national High Jump champion in High School, Njoku has the athleticism and ability to have a breakout 2016.
