1) Andre Cisco, Syracuse
There is no better indication that Dino Babers has upgraded the talent level at Syracuse than Andre Cisco. Cisco is the ACC’s number one safety, and one of the best safeties in the country. He tied for the national lead with 7 interceptions, and was an All-ACC 1st Team selection last year. Here’s the scary, he’s part Cisco is just entering his sophomore season.
2) Damar Hamlin, Pittsburgh
Damar Hamlin has been on several All-ACC pre-season lists. Last year he was Pittsburgh’s top tackler with 90, and was All-ACC Honorable Mention Selection. The 6’1 safety is considered an NFL prospect that I’ve seen projected in the 3rd – 5th round.
3) K’Von Wallace, Clemson
Clemson has dominated these player rankings, K’Von Wallace is another Tiger that has made a top 5 player ranking list. Last season he was an All-ACC Honorable Mention Selection, while making 55 tackles. The Tigers have a talented safety unit and Wallace is the best of the bunch.
4) Dylan Singleton, Duke
If Dylan Singleton is fully from his ankle injury, he’s is one of the best safeties in the ACC. He is coming off All-ACC Honorable Mention 73 tackle season in 2018. He had 4 games with 10 or more tackles last year before getting hurt. He’s capable of a 100+ tackle season in 2019, if he plays a full season.
5) Jarius Morehead, NC State
Jarius Morehead is rock solid safety for the NC State Wolfpack. He had 81 tackles lat season, and was named NC State’s top defensive back. With 26 starts he’s NC State’s most experienced returning player. He’s considered one of the top 15 draftable strong safeties for 2020 according to SportsGamingRosters.
