Well, here we go. It’s time to start ranking the best players in the ACC for the 2025 season.
As usual, we hope you enjoy the rankings.
Previous and Upcoming Rankings
Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Offensive Linemen | Tight Ends | Defensive Linemen | Linebackers | Cornerbacks | Safeties | Special Teams
1) Cade Klubnik, Clemson
Expectations are through the roof for returning Clemson QB Cade Klubnik. Many college football observers consider him one of the best returning quarterbacks in the country. If you’re looking at a pre-season All-America team, he’s probably somewhere on 1st, 2nd or 3rd team.
He’s coming off a season where he threw for over 3600 yards and had a completion rate of 63%. NFL scouts love him, and he’s a predicted 1st round pick. He’ll have plenty of weapons in the Clemson offense and should have a great year.
2) Haynes King, Georgia Tech
Haynes King has helped elevate Georgia Tech back to respectability. He might just elevate them to being one of the best teams in the ACC in 2025. King’s ability to run separates him from most of the quarterbacks on this list, but he’s an excellent passer as well, completing nearly 73% of his passes last year.
If you didn’t see Georgia Tech’s games with Georgia, check it out, as King laid waste to the SEC Champion’s defense, accounting for over 400 yards of offense. He played last year on a largely bum shoulder. What can he do if he’s fully healthy?
3) Carson Beck, Miami
For the 2nd year in a row, Miami hit the jackpot in the QB transfer portal. A year after landing Cam Ward, Miami gets the former Georgia starter Carson Beck. Beck was 24-3 as a starter for the Bulldogs, and last year entered the season as a Heisman candidate. While he fell off the Heisman radar as the season progressed, he still had a solid year throwing for nearly 3500 yards while completing nearly 65% of his passes. He’s projected to go in the middle rounds of the NFL of draft, but could work himself up to a day 2 pick with a strong season.
4) Kevin Jennings, SMU
When Kevin Jennings took over as the starting QB at SMU early in the season, it changed everything for SMU last year. He threw for 3,245 yards while completing 65% of his passes. He led SMU to 9 straight wins, and an ACC Title game appearance they nearly won. They also reached the college football playoffs, and make no mistake, they deserved that bid without. He’s an intriguing NFL prospect and is considered a 5th – 7th round draft choice.
If there’s a concern about Jennings, it’s hoping he’s put behind the nightmare playoff game he had against Penn State.
5) Miller Moss, Louisvlle
Miami wasn’t the only ACC team to get a solid QB in the transfer portal. Louisville nabbed from USC. The former Trojan QB, at times, looked like a future pro. He was the 2023 Holiday Bowl MVP, then to open the 2024 season, he outdueled LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier, throwing for 378 yards. He did lose his starting job at USC after 9 games, but when he’s right, he’s a top-flight QB.
Under the tutelage of Jeff Brohm, Moss’s full potential might be unleashed, and he could end up a fairly high NFL draft pick. He’s got the tools to be a very good QB. He just needs more consistency.
