We are looking at offensive linemen now, and I can’t remember a unit as loaded as the Florida State offensive line. I’ve never had 3 players from one team make the 5 best players in a particular unit ranking. This group is considered the top offensive line unit in the country, and now you are about to find out why.

Previous and Upcoming Rankings

1) Cameron Erving, Florida State

What else can you say about Cameron Erving that hasn’t already been said. The Seminole offensive line is experienced, talented and Erving is anchor. At 6-6 302 the Senior, was a consensus All-American last year, and appears on just about every pre-season All-American list for 2014. How good is Erving? I was reading Erving’s bio, and now I remember it from that game, he held Clemson All-American DE Vic Beasley without a sack when FSU and Clemson played. He’s a projected 1st round pick, and here’s a scary thought. He’s a converted DT, who’s still learning the position.

2) Tre’ Jackson, Florida State

Tre’ Jackson is another Florida State offensive lineman with All-American ability. At 6-4 339 lbs, he’s a load at guard, and is a tremendous run-blocker. He’s also projected to be a first round pick, and is considered the top draftable guard by NFL Draft Scout.com. Keep reading because we aren’t done with the Seminole lineman.

3) Laken  Tomlinson, Duke

Look no further than Laken Tomlinson from Duke, to understand the restoration project by head coach David Cutcliffe. Tomlinson is considered one of the 5 best senior guards in the country. He’s an experienced lineman who at 6-3 320 lbs is going to be coveted by NFL teams. He’s a potential 2nd or 3rd round NFL pick.

4) Josue Matias, Florida State

Ok this just isn’t fair… Josue Matias is the 3rd Florida State offensive lineman to make this list. He is ranked as the number 4 draft eligible guard by WalterFootball.com. Take a look at that list, and you’ll see 4 of the top 6 draftable guards in country are from the ACC. They say you win in the trenches. Matias is 6-6 331 lbs, and gives the Seminoles another monster along the offensive line. The Noles offensive line is flat out going to be a wall this year.

5) Shaq Mason, Georgia Tech

Shaw Mason is Georgia Tech’s first entry into a top 5 position player, and he’s a good one. Mason is coming off a 1st team All-ACC season, where he was the Yellow Jackets top offensive lineman for their run heavy attack. Mason is only 6-1. If he was 1 or 2 inches taller he’d probably be a first or second rounder. He still has NFL talent, and is considered one of the top 25 guards in nation. Expect him to be a 5th-7th round NFL pick.
