The Pitt Panthers opened the 2025 season with a convincing 61-9 win over Duquesne. Eli Holstein threw for 4 touchdowns and 215 yards and rushed for another 41 yards in the win. Pitt standout Running Back Desmond Reid rushed for 66 yards on 8 carries and had a touchdown run as well as an 88-yard punt return touchdown. Cataurus Hicks caught 2 of Holstein’s touchdown passes. The Pitt defense was stingy, allowing just 208 yards of offense.
