Can Pitt do the unthinkable and build some momentum heading into the conference tourney?

It seems like this year's Pitt basketball team has been almost having fun toying with our emotions. They have made us question our own sanity (not that we don't question it often other times as well) and we kept tuning in to see if they would finally regain the early season form that saw them start off the year at 18-2. The games have been tight, but the Panthers won two in a row and have a chance to head into the ACC tournament on a little bit of a run this week. This seemed impossible just one week ago, but the opportunity is there now.

It begins tonight as Pitt will host NC State for the final home game of the year. Let's hope the Zoo sends them into the post-season in fine fashion and comes into the game with full voice this evening. The game will begin at 9:00 p.m. and you can tune in on ESPNU to check out if the two road wins last week is something the Panthers will build on or not. Pitt defeated NC State in their ACC opener in the early part of the season. The Wolfpack are coming off two losses and are17-12 and 7-9 in the conference.

Once Monday night is over, Pitt will turn it's attention to finish out the regular season in a game that could have some have an impact on seeding at the ACC Tournament. On Saturday, they head on the road to take on Clemson in the regular season finale. Both teams are neck and neck for the 5th overall seed. I think most fans can point to a the January 33-point victory over the Tigers as the last time Pitt was...well, Pitt. You will have to check your local listings to see where you can check out this game or catch it on ESPN3 at 4:00 p.m.

Pitt actually has a good chance to build some nice momentum heading into the ACC Tournament.
