Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh: The No. 17 Pittsburgh Panthers played host to the No. 24 Tennessee Volunteers in the 2022 Johnny Majors Classic football game. It was a tight game throughout, and it took overtime before UT could come away with the 34-27 win. Pitt quarterback Kedon Slovis left in the first half with an injury after throwing for 195 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Nick Patti came in for Slovis and battled through injuries of his own as he and the Panthers forced overtime. Israel Abinakanda had a great game, finishing with 175 total yards including a 76 yard touchdown run. Former Virginia Tech quarterback Hendon Hooker played well for the Vols, finishing with 325 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns in the win.
