Game Recap

The Pitt Panthers won a slug-match with a tough No. 25 Florida State team, coming away with a gritty 34-31 win. Pitt set the tone on the first possession of the game, converting 3 fourth-down attempts on the way to a Ja'Kyrian Turner touchdown. The Seminoles would answer, and it'd be back-and-forth from there. Pitt's freshman quarterback, Mason Heintschel, had a magnificent game and completed 21-29 passes for 321 passing yards with 2 touchdowns while overcoming two 1st-half interceptions in the win. Heintschel also led the team with 64 rushing yards while Desmond Reid caught 8 passes for 155 receiving yards, adding 45 on the ground for Pat Narduzzi's squad.

Tommy Castellanos fought hard despite the loss, finishing with 257 total yards with 3 TD passes in the loss. Micahi Danzy continued his impressive season, catching 7 passes for 133 yards and 2 scores for Mike Norvell's club. Earl Little Jr. finished with an interception and a forced fumble for the FSU defense.
