In the only Week 1 matchup between two ranked teams, the Ole Miss Rebels will take on the Louisville Cardinals at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. It will be the second-ever meeting between the two programs, with the Rebels coming out victorious in 2021. Ole Miss' Pete Golding is going into his first full season as the Rebels' head coach after taking over the program at the end of the regular season and going 2-1 in the 2025 College Football Playoff. Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm is entering his fourth year with the Cardinals, and in that time he is 2-2 against top 15 teams and 3-0 in season openers. Louisville brings back running back Isaac Brown, who led the ACC with 8.8 yards per carry. They will also be debuting new starting quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, who will be making his first -ever start after serving as backup quarterback at Ohio State for the previous three seasons. Ole Miss returns the best quarterback-running back combo in the SEC with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy.
