The #7 Miami Hurricanes went across the country and dominated their season opener, 45-6 over the Stanford Cardinal. It is the largest ACC victory for Miami since 2020. Wide receiver Malachi Toney broke Eddie Brown's single-game receiving yard record from 1984. Toney caught 12 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Throwing Toney the ball was quarterback Darian Mensah who was making his Miami debut. Mensah completed 27 of 30 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns. Cooper Barkate caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in his first game with the Hurricanes. Stanford quarterback Davis Warren completed 21 of 41 passes for 214 yards.
