Louisville controlled the rivalry matchup from start to finish, defending the Governor’s Cup with a dominant 41–0 shutout of Kentucky. The Cardinals set the tone early when freshman defensive lineman Eric Hazzard charged through the middle to block a punt deep in UK territory, and Miller Moss capped the short-field drive by diving over the pile at the goal line. Moss added a steady performance through the air, completing 12 of 20 passes for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cooper Ranvier chipped in two field goals, tying the Louisville single-season record with 21, while Braxton Jennings powered the ground attack with first first-ever 100-yard outing by a walk-on player, finishing with 113 yards on 20 carries.
