Keve Aluma’s ‘pretty simple’ decision making the difference

In 2022, Keve Aluma made a sensational return to Virginia Tech. According to him, it was a “pretty easy” decision. But critics didn't see it that way.

Aluma had retained his college eligibility when he entered the draft, so he had left the door open to returning to the Hokies. The 23-year-old who made All-ACC second team as a fourth-year junior had said “It's not like I was all over the draft boards”.

Aluma, who like gaming on www.lecasinoenligne.co, was one of 40 draft hopefuls who were invited to show their talents in front of NBA scouts, coaches and executives at the NBA G League Elite Camp. However, he didn't make the cut as only three prospects did well enough at that camp to be invited to join the upper-tier draft prospects at the NBA Draft Combine.

"It was a win-win situation. Everyone's dream is obviously to go pro, but I'm in a great situation here and I think we're going to be pretty good, … better than last year."

Players who enter the draft are allowed to retain their college eligibility as long as they sign with an NCAA-certified agent — which Aluma did after being invited to the G League camp — and request an evaluation from the NBA's undergraduate advisory panel.

His decision to return came as cheering news for the Hokies. Aluma was their leading scorer and rebounder in the previous year's NCAA Tournament team.

The 6-foot-9 Aluma averaged 15.2 points and 7.9 rebounds last season, helping the Hokies go 15-7 overall and 9-4 in league play. It was his first season playing for the Hokies; he had sat out the 2019-20 season after transferring from Wofford.

It's a move that could shoot Tech’s late-season push. The 6-foot-9 redshirt senior is averaging 15.8 points, but has scored 20-plus points three times inhis team’s current six-game winning streak.

Aluma scored 24 points in Tech's 62-53 win against the Virginia Cavaliers. After Kadin Shedrick scored to pull the Cavaliers within four points, 54-50 with just under three minutes left, Aluma found open space in the middle of the key and threw down a dunk to push the Hokies lead back to six and a minute later knocked down a turnaround baseline jumper to make it 58-50, a game that was backed by odds from real money online casino games.

Tech hosts North Carolina this weekend with another Aluma spectacle expected. The Hokies are 10-3 in home games. Tech ranks second in college basketball shooting 41.0% from downtown, led by Sean Pedulla shooting 57.5% from 3-point range.

The Tar Heels are 10-5 in ACC play. North Carolina is ninth in college basketball with 27.5 defensive rebounds per game led by Armando Bacot averaging 8.3.

The teams square off for the 10th time in conference play this season. The Tar Heels won the last matchup 78-68 on Jan. 25. Caleb Love scored 22 points to help lead the Tar Heels to the win.
