Duke held their Countdown to Craziness event which is highlighted by Duke's Blue/White scrimmage. The scrimmage consisted of just two 12 minute periods, but it was plenty of time for Jahlil Okafor to set expectations extremely high.
Okafor scored 27 points on 12-14 shooting and grabbed 8 rebounds in the scrimmage. According to the N&O's Laura Keeley, it was the diverse way in which he did it that impressed.
Okafor's first shot was a hook shot.
Good.
His second was a dunk.
Good.
His third was a lay-up off of a spin move going to his left.
Good.
His fourth was a jump shot from the elbow.
Good.
His fifth was a 15-foot bank shot from a tough angle, in the no-man's land toward the baseline.
Good.
It wasn't just Okafor that impressed though, Rasheed Sulaimon dominated the second 12 minute period and finished with 22 points. Justise Winslow (12 pts), Amile Jefferson (10 pts), and Matt Jones (10 pts) also added double-figures in the scrimmage.
