Game Recap

Quarterback Cade Klubnik and the Clemson offense has been maligned most of the year. The offense struggled, he’s struggled, the offensive line struggled, and the wide receivers struggled.

Clemson had largely ridden their defense to 4 wins in November, but what if the offense had to answer the call?

Clemson’s defense turned Kentucky over multiple times in the 4th quarter but also gave up several big plays. If the Tigers were going to win it was going to take a game-winning TD driving led by Cade Klubnik to do it.

This about sums it up. I honestly wondered as well if Clemson was done for.

Cade Klubnik put together the best drive of his Clemson career, as Clemson escaped with a 38-35 win over Kentucky.

We’ve been consistent on meaningless narratives being set during bowl season. We are consistent in that. This doesn’t mean Clemson is ready to get back in the top 5, or some indictment positive or negative on ACC football.

What it does mean is that QB Cade Klubkink goes into the off-season with enormous confidence. How could he not?

When you have that at the most important position on the field, that can be worth 2 or 3 more wins in a season. A 6-win team becomes an 8 win one. An 8-win team can be a 10-win one.

At 4-4, Clemson’s looked like a dieing program. Five wins later and a 9-4 finish and the Tigers still have some life and momentum to them going into 2024.

They can think about opening the Georgia game later.
