The Mustangs used some hot three-point shooting to upset the visiting #12 Tar Heels, 97-83. It was SMU's first win over a ranked team since February 2022. SMU made 14 of their 27 three-point attempts in the game, and they made 60.0% of their field goal attempts in general. SMU's Boopie Miller played like the best player in the game. Miller had a double-double with 27 points and 12 assists. Corey Washington added 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists. North Carolina got a good performance out of Seth Trimble, who finished the game with 22 points, five assists, and three rebounds.
