Georgia Tech switch from Adidas to Under Armour comes with significant revenue increase

Georgia Tech has made significant athletic strides over the last 4 or 5 years. It’s no coincidence that this has occurred under the leadership of Georgia Tech president Angel Cabrera, who arrived in Atlanta in 2019. Cabera has unified athletics and academics as well as any Georgia Tech president in arguably decades.

Another significant announcement was released today regarding Georgia Tech athletics. They reached a new apparel deal with Under Armour, which is reportedly 6 times higer than the previous deal with Adidas, which would raise yearly revenue from $3 to $18 Million.

Georgia Tech AD Ryan Alpert said that the school’s deal with Under Armour has “more benefits than just the financial windfall.” The company also will “prioritize NIL opportunities for Tech players
