Texas forward Marco Anthony became the first pledge for Head Coach Tony Bennett and the Virginia Cavaliers, as he announced on Tuesday that he would be committing to UVa.
Anthony is a 6-foot-6 forward from Texas that certainly fits the Cavalier philosophy, as he is a versatile prospec tthat can play multiple positions and can defend.
Anthony held offers from several programs including Iowa State, Boise State, Buffalo, Mercer, Toledo, UTSA, and several others.
This past season at Holmes High in San Antonio, Anthony averaged 20 points and seven rebounds per game. Furthermore, Anthony played for Pro Skills AAU this spring at the EYBL where he averaged just over 11 points and five rebounds per game.
