Duke's Anthony Boone is out indefinitely with what is reportedly a broken collarbone.  Brandon Connette stepped up in his absence against Memphis and will likely get the start against Georgia Tech.

Duke starting quarterback Anthony Boone is out indefinitely with a broken collarbone suffered in a 28-14 win against Memphis on Saturday.

Coach David Cutcliffe said after the victory he would know Monday or Tuesday how long Boone will be out. Boone, who made his second career start against the Tigers, got hurt in the second quarter.

— With Anthony Boone out indefinitely with a broken right collar bone in his throwing shoulder, Duke’s quarterback situation was thrown into flux.

Brandon Connette, a redshirt junior, becomes the starter. Connette entered the game with career marks of 21-for-45 for 253 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. For the three years he has been on the field, he has primarily been Duke’s red zone quarterback, using his legs more often than his arms. Connette had 132 career rushes for 420 yards and 18 touchdowns coming into Memphis.
