Duke's 2019 Recruiting gets a boost as Wendell Moore picks the Blue Devils

The Duke Basketball 2019 class just received their first pledge as North Carolina native Wendell Moore verbally committed to Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils. Moore, out of Cox Mill High School, is a 6'6, 210lb small forward / guard that fits the mold of the versatile, multi-positional wing that the program and Coach K has coveted recently.

Moore's commitment could give Duke a much needed "shot in the arm" from a slow off-season on the recruiting trail. After losing on Bryan Antoine and Josiah James, some saw Moore as a must have in this class. As a junior at Cox Mill Moore averaged 25.4 points, 3.1 assists and nearly 8 rebounds a game. Moore is a 2 time NCHSAA 3A basketball state champion and has already eclipsed the 2,000-point scoring mark as a high schooler - he was named the boys player of year and first team all-state this spring by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association.

Duke still has offers out to a trio of big men including: Isaiah Stewart, Vernon Carey Jr. and Matthew Hurt and guards Boogie Ellis, Cole Anthony and Joe Girard.
