As Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils look to finalize their rotational roster, the staff has also placed emphasis on replenishing the developmental depth that quietly supported last season’s core. Those “bridge” roles—often overlooked—proved critical in preparing rotation players behind the scenes.
To address that need, Duke hosted rising senior Jacob Theodosiou for a visit on Wednesday, April 29. Either during or shortly after that visit, the Blue Devils secured a commitment from the Loyola Greyhounds guard. With Cam Sheffield and Jack Scott exhausting their eligibility, Theodosiou projects as a natural successor to those stabilizing backcourt roles.
The 6-foot-4 guard entered the transfer portal after beginning his career at Wyoming before spending the past two seasons at Loyola in the Patriot League. He started 31 games as a sophomore and 18 this past season, earning Academic All-Patriot League honors. In 27 appearances, Theodosiou averaged 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 23.3 minutes per game. He finished third on the team in scoring while ranking second in both assists (74) and steals (44), shooting an efficient 46.1 percent from the field. He also placed second on the team in both free throws made and attempted, underscoring his ability to generate offense and play through contact.
