Duke football fans will be tested on Saturday

Duke football fans are something of a myth that I have read about and have rarely seen.  I only know of one true Duke football fan and I can say he attended many games prior the arrival of David Cutcliffe who has Duke football sitting at 6-2 with four games to go this season.  The Duke Blue Devils host NC State this Saturday and if there ever was a time for Blue Devil fans to take a seat someone on campus besides Cameron Indoor Stadium it is now.

I have never seen Wallace Wade Stadium sold out and when it has been closer to capacity it was due to the fact that North Carolina or NC State fans bought the tickets.  David Cutcliffe is one of if not the best football coach in the ACC and deserves to play in front of sold out crowd that is dressed in Duke Blue.  The Wolfpack will visit Durham Saturday and when I look online there are plenty of tickets available for State fans to turn Wallace Wade Red.

A Cut Above the Rest

David Cutcliffe is the first coach to ever lead the Blue Devils to back to back post season Bowl games. It is a shame the school doesn’t get behind the best thing to ever happen to Duke football.  Sure Steve Spurrier had a good season 25 years ago however he took off at the first opportunity to win at a high level when Florida came calling.  At Cutcliffe’s age I do not believe he will leave Durham however if the stadium has more red than blue with NC State having a horrible year Blue Devil Coach may Cut Bait and leave for a greener pasture.

It is time for Blue Devil fans to appreciate what they have or are they already over by Cameron camping out for tickets while the best year in Duke football passes them by?
