Devin Street could set school record with big game against Miami

Pitt's Devin Street has had a big season and could add another special accolade before he ends his senior season. Street has already set the school record for career receptions and he could do the same for yardage with a big game against Miami on Friday.

Street currently has 2,901 yards, a mere 160 behind leader Antonio Bryant for the all-time record. If Street plays on Friday, he'll also get the chance to pass up No. 2 Dietrich Jells, who has 3,003 career yards and was the leader until Bryant passed him up.

Breaking the record against the Hurricanes will be tough, but not unheard of. Street had 166 yards against Duke in the shootout earlier this season and has had two 140-yard games over the past two seasons against Florida State earlier this year and Temple last year.

Still, you might not want to expect Street to get the 160 yards he needs to tie the record. Those types of games don't come often and also consider that he probably isn't 100%. He left the game last week against Syracuse with an injury and didn't return. With the offensive line struggling so much, the deep ball hasn't been there lately as it was earlier in the season and Street will need to likely rack up a ton of yards after his catches to have a shot.

Don't panic - if he doesn't get the record this weekend against Miami, he'll still have a shot with the team's expected bowl game. But it'd be nice to see him get it at home if he can. Not only would it be a nice reward to the fans sitting out there in the cold, but it also could mean that Pitt has kept it close against Miami.
