So here go again Brad Brownwell entered the season on the hot seat and now Clemson is 13-3 (5-0) and sitting at a top the ACC after a hard-fought win at previously unbeaten in the ACC Pittsburgh.

In 2018 he’s ACC COY material.
In 2019 we suggested he might be underappreciated as Matt Zemek wrote.
Against in 2022, we’re writing about his rough off-season and how he needed a remarkable 2022-2023 season, so he couldn’t have gotten off to a better start in the ACC.
This is a Clemson team that could have real staying power this year.
There is an early season loss to a terrible South Carolina team as PJ Hall was getting healthy, and the truly inexplicable loss to Loyola Chicago as the two anchors to Clemson’s resume. Those are starting to get in the rearview mirror though as Clemson has won 5 straight games and now sits 5-1 against the Q1 and Q2 portion of their schedule.
They have a well-balanced team that can score inside and out.
Hunter Tyson maybe headed toward an All-ACC season averaging 15.5 points per game to go along with 10 rebounds a game.
Chase Hunter is a steady guard that can score and run the offense, and PJ Hall is a versatile center with surprising range shooting 43% from 3-point range.
The depth of their team which has 9 players averaging over 10 minutes has allowed them to absorb the loss of their best 3-point shooter Alex Hemmenway who is currently out with an injury.
This certainly has the appearance of Clemson’s best team since the 2018 Sweet 16 one as Brad Brownell is another of his 9 coaching lives.
