Let's take a look at Miami football.

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Duke | Georgia Tech | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson | Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Miami
Mark Richt in his 2 years at Miami has brought the Hurricanes back to national relevance. The U isn’t quite back, but they are as close as they’ve been since the early 2000s, and that’s due to Richt after a series of failed coaches. After winning 19 games the last 2 years in Miami, there’s a feeling the Canes could be ready to take another step and become a team that can reach the playoffs in the near future.

Will Go 11-1 (7-1) if:
Malik Rosier can improve his accuracy at QB… He completed just 45% of his passes in his final 3 games. Actually, Miami – for whomever plays ends up playing QB can only go as far as the position takes them. If it’s consistent and above average, Miami could be very very good. The offensive line must be an improved unit from last year. It was a front that physically was overwhelmed by teams like Clemson and Wisconsin. If the Canes are going to challenge for a playoff spot, this group has to be better.

Looking at Miami’s schedule, if they can go 2-1 in their games against LSU, Florida State, and Virginia Tech – they should be favored in every other game they play. If WR Ahmmon Richards returns to full health the offense could be extremely difficult for other teams to deal with.

Will Go 7-5 (4-4) if:
They go 0-3 against LSU, Florida State and Virginia Tech. This can certainly happen if the QB play is shaky. That’s not a position Miami comes into season feeling secure in especially with Malik Rosier’s up and down play last year. There are couple of other dangerous games like road games at Boston College and at Georgia Tech. 4 of those games are in Miami’s final 6 games.

Remember despite Miami’s 10-0 start, they won 4 games by single digits. They split those games, and Miami isn’t reaching the top 10 or the ACC Championship Game. A struggling QB and an offensive that isn’t better, and Miami’s program momentum could hit a speed bump.
