Best / Worse Case Record for :

MiamiGeorgia Tech | Virginia| Clemson | Duke | Louisville | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Miami
The Miami Hurricanes were brought to the ACC to elevate the conference’s football profile, but unfortunately Miami’s results haven’t made anyone but rival Florida State fans happy. The Canes haven’t won a bowl game in nearly a decade, and haven’t finished a season ranked since 2009. Al Golden has been at Miami since 2011, and has had to deal to with NCAA sanctions. Understandably that has slowed Miami’s return to prominence, but folks in South Florida are starting to show some frustration with Golden. Miami still has pretty good talent, but it’s time for Golden to start showing some progress.

Will Go 9-3 (5-3) if:
Miami can take care of business at home. Other than a game at Florida State and maybe Duke, all of the Canes toughest games are at home. Nebraska Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Georgia Tech all travel to Miami. Brad Kaaya also needs to build on a solid freshman season. Kaaya showed tons of potential last season, but he loses several of his top playmakers and his offensive line is unproven. He will have to carry the load if Miami is be successful. RB Joseph Yearby showed flashes of  All-ACC potential,  If he comes along that would form a very solid 1-2 punch for Miami’s offense.

Will Go 5-7 (3-5) if:
Brad Kaaya has a sophomore slump. Miami can only go as far as Kaaya can take them, and he’s going to have to do with a totally rebuilt offensive line. The defensive line is going to be pretty much brand new too The Canes could be a mess up front on both sides of the ball. If that happens they won’t be able to protect Kaaya, and opposing offenses will feast on a suspect defensive line. The Canes have brutal October – at FSU, Virginia Tech, Clemson and then at Duke. Losing all 4 is a possibility.
