ACC 2025 Football Schedule

Georgia Tech

The time is now for Georgia Tech. Head Coach Brent Key has put the nightmare Geoff Collins era in the past with consecutive 7-6 seasons. Georgia Tech can play with anyone in college football, just ask Georgia, and they have a number of top 25-ranked wins in the last two years. They return a talented, experienced team that is poised to make real noise in the ACC. Is Georgia Tech ready to turn that corner from decent to really good in 2025 and have that breakthrough season their fans have been waiting for since at least 2016?

Will Go 11-1 (7-1) if:

Georgia Tech can harness its ability to play at a high level into a full season. Last season, Georgia Tech beat a top 5 Miami team, and went 8 OTs with SEC Champ Georgia, leaving Kirby Smart’s defense looking helpless. They also didn’t lose a home game last year. Other than Clemson and Georgia, Georgia Tech can player-for-player match talent with anyone on their schedule. QB Haynes King and RB Jamal Haynes give the Jackets the best QB/RB combo in the ACC and maybe the country. The defense can’t slip after showing improvement last season. The opener against Colorado seems like a must-win if Georgia Tech is to have that magical type of season that could be in the cards.

Will Go 6-6 (4-4) if:

Georgia Tech is the team we’ve seen the last 2 years, at times explosive on offense, but prone to lulls with an adequate improving defense, but one that can get overwhelmed still. The game at Colorado is an extremely dangerous opener. Colorado lost 1st first-round talent, but losing a winnable road game would set a bad tone for the rest of the season. Clemson, 2 games later, could lead to a 1-2 start. New DC Blake Gideon has to keep building on the improvements Tyler Santucci made. Certainly, if you lose at Colorado games at Duke and at NC State are loseable. Georgia Tech hasn’t beaten Georgia since 2016. That’s 5 losses there and losing anywhere else along the way, and the Jackerts could be a disappointing 6-6 in the regular season.
