Let's take a look at Georgia Tech football.

Best / Worst Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson |  Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

ACC 2022 Football Schedule

Georgia Tech
Things are bad for Geoff Collins at Georgia Tech, and I mean real bad. Unabashedly optimistic or delusional in discussing his program in years past, Geoff Collins has to produce something positive in his 4th year in Atlanta or he’s done. Collins has guided Georgia Tech to its lowest point since the early 1980s. Finishing the year getting outscored 113-6, undid any marginal improvement the Jackets made during the season. It’s now or never for Collins. He has to do it without his All-ACC RB Jahmyr Gibbs who left for Alabama, and a slew of new assistant coaches.

Will Go 6-6 (4-4) if:
If everything goes perfectly for Georgia Tech. By perfect, for Georgia Tech that means to win the games you are supposed to, avoid injuries, spring a couple of upsets, win a couple of close games, and improve on both sides of the ball. If all that happens Georgia Tech could sneak into a bowl game. Why isn’t the ceiling higher? It’s a schedule built for a team several weight classes above where Georgia Tech is. Georgia Tech faces Clemson, Western Carolina Ole Miss, at UCF, and at Pitt in the first five weeks of the year. If the Jackets can find a way to steal another game along with probably beating Western Carolina, they’ll have a chance at 3 wins by October 8, which would match Collins’s best win total in a season at Georgia Tech. You do that, then there is a shot to build something. If QB Jeff Sims’s All-ACC caliber raw talent can be harnessed, the Jackets have a chance to take a leap forward offensively. Georgia Tech went 1-5 in single-digit games last season, just going .500 in single-digit games in 2022 could make a world of difference.

Will Go 1-10 (0-8) if:
Georgia Tech packs it in after a 1-5 start. A 1-5 start will have the calls for Collins to be fired everywhere. It’s not like the game with Duke is a lock either. It took a last-second win for the Jackets to beat Duke last season. Georgia Tech could be underdogs in all, but one or two of their games so it’s not a stretch to see a 1 win season. There’s a handful of decent transfers coming in, and if they don’t contribute heavily, the season can fall apart.
