With a month left to go before the season starts, we are going to through the ACC and and give each team’s best and worst case records for 2015. We are going to try to keep it realistic : 12-0 isn’t going to happen for every team under any circumstance, and also not every starter is going to tear an ACL. I think you get the picture.

Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets are coming off their best season since the 1990 National Champion season. The season had so many highlights – 11 wins, an Orange Bowl Title, a victory over arch rival Georgia, and a top 10 finish. By any measure for Georgia Tech it was a fantastic season that changed national perceptions of what is possible in Atlanta. Is Georgia Tech here to stay, or was 2014 just year where the Yellow Jackets caught lightening in a bottle?
Will Go 10-2 (7-1) if:
Two things happen… the defense is better, and if Georgia Tech can replace a wealth of skill position talent on offense. While the Yellow Jackets defense produced a ton of turnovers in 2014 they gave up a ton of points and yards. They ranked 79th in total yards given up. With the announced eligibility of Jabari Hunt Days, to go along All-ACC player Adam Gostis and freshman All-American KeShun Freeman, the d-line could be pretty strong. The back seven is solid. The defense has a great chance to much improved.
Offensively the 1-2 punch Synjyn Days and Zach Laskey are gone along with NFL caliber WR’s DeAndre Smelter and Darren Waller. Those are big holes to fill. The schedule is brutal. Any team in the country would be hard pressed to go better than 2-2 with games against FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Georgia like Georgia Tech has. That’s why the ceiling is 10-2, but it all starts at QB, and the Jackets have a very good one in Justin Thomas.
Will Go 6-6 (4-4) if:
The schedule becomes to much to handle. Is it out of the question to see Georgia Tech losing to Florida State, Clemson, Notre Dame and Georgia? Then lose at Duke or at Miami, or maybe drop a home game to a Pittsburgh or Virginia Tech, and the season could spiral out of control. QB Justin Thomas will be fine, but if the defense fails to show much improvement and the skill position players on offense don’t step up then that could spell trouble with such a difficult schedule.
