Let's take a look at FSU football.

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Boston College | Pittsburgh | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson | Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

ACC 2021 Football Schedule

Florida State
During the middle part of the 2010s, Florida State was one of the four best programs in college football. It would be a stretch to call Florida State one of the four best programs in ACC’s Atlantic Division these days. Getting Florida State out of mediocrity is Mike Norvell’s task. Fortunately FSU can recruit at a level few ACC teams can, and this upcoming class could set the tone for the Noles resurgence. That said, FSU has a ways to go to reach their former glory, but Seminole fans hope there are some positive signs in Norvell’s second season.

Will Go 8-4 (5-3) if:
The Noles get off to a fast start. The last month of the season is brutal with games at Clemson, NC State, Miami, at Boston College, and Florida. The best possible scenario is FSU goes 3-2, but the the early season schedule is manageable. If FSU can steal the Notre Dame game, then Jacksonville State, at Wake Forest, Louisville, and Syracuse are winnable. The defense has to improve from a ranking of 107 in 2020. If McKenzie Milton, who I expect will end up the starting QB,  can approach being the player he was at UCF, the offense could really take off.

Will Go 4-8 (2-6) if:

The Noles just can’t manage the schedule. FSU is playing a schedule that features a whopping five pre-season ranked top 20 teams – Notre Dame, UNC, Clemson, Miami, and Florida. Boston College and NC State could very well be top 20 teams at some point this season too. That’s 6 maybe 7 potential losses. The defense needs major work. The offense may be no more than average, especially if the offensive line remains as pedestrian as it’s been for awhile. After Jacksonville State, UMASS, and possibly Syracuse FSU isn’t assured of any additional wins.
