Let's talk about Clemson football.

Best / Worst Case Record for :

Louisville | Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Boston College | Pittsburgh |Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State |  Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

ACC 2022 Football Schedule

Clemson
You win 10 games, beat your in-state rival, win your final 6 games, and finish the season in the top 15. That’s a great season for all but a handful of FBS programs. Clemson is one of those handfuls of programs where 10-3 isn’t good enough. Clemson was not a good football team mid-way through last year, and credit head coach Dabo Swinney for guiding the Tigers to a second-half turnaround. In 2022 Clemson’s defense will be among the nation’s best and most talented groups, but Brent Venables won’t be there to lead it. Will last year be a blip on Clemson’s resume, or is the dynasty in a bit of trouble?

Will Go 12-0 (8-0) if:
The quarterback play is above average. Clemson’s defense will be so good, they need don’t elite QB play. Georgia didn’t have it last year and won the national title as their defense carried them. Their QB Stetson Bennett was solid if unspectacular. Last year’s QB starter DJ Uiagalelei’s play ranged from awful to average. The offensive line was inconsistent, and is there a Sammy Watkins Mike Williams go-to type receiver? You get the picture. If an offense that ranked 100th in the nation last year is even marginally better the Tigers can run the table because the defense should be that good. If the offense takes a big leap forward Clemson could contend for a national title. Sportsbook will have Clemson favored in all, but maybe one of their games. An undefeated Clemson team is certainly not out of the question.

Will Go 9-3 (6-2) if:
The offense is what we saw last year. It’s no guarantee the Clemson offense will be better, and if it isn’t the Tigers not only won’t make the playoffs they won’t win the ACC or the ACC Atlantic. Clemson has recruited too well, and the defense is too loaded to have the season completely fall apart, but that unit alone can’t carry the offense all year. No matter who is QB’g against Wake Forest, the game there is dangerous. NC State is certainly a threat, and so is Notre Dame. Games at Boston College, at FSU, and Miami suddenly look problematic if the offense struggles. A 9-3 season would be a bonafide signal the program has declined from its best days.
