We continue our series with Boston College

Best / Worse Case Record for :

Louisville Virginia | Miami | Duke | Georgia Tech | Pittsburgh | Florida State | Virginia Tech | NC State | Clemson |Syracuse | North Carolina | Wake Forest

Boston College
For the 3rd time in 4 years Boston College won 7 games. When you are in conference with Florida State and Clemson, that’s hardly a record to dismiss.  Boston College is a tough hard-nosed team, but they are light years away in terms of talent from the ACC’s best. Steve Addiazo has actually done a respectable job as head coach. Is it enough for Boston College fans? Is 7 wins the ceiling Boston College in one of the toughest divisions in college football?

Will Go 7-5 (3-5) if:
The offense takes a major step forward. Boston College wasn’t a bad offensive team, they were an awful offensive team ranking 127th in the country. They couldn’t run or throw the ball effectively. We still don’t know who is going to be name the QB, but if whomever is named can step in and do a decent job then BC has can get bowl eligible. Out of conference – are 3 winnable games Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, and Connecticut. Even the game against Notre Dame is one BC can win.

The defense has an All-American in Harold Landry, and is capable of keeping Boston College in most games.

Will Go 3-9 (1-7) if:
We’re back to the offense… if it struggles again watch out, because Boston College could be in big trouble. BC was completely un-competitive in games with Louisville, Florida State and Clemson last year. They have all 3 again, and have Virginia Tech from the Coastal. What happens if the top 5 defense from last year backs up? There’s no way the offense can carry the load if the defense starts having problems.

It’s hard to see Addiazo surviving a 3-9 or 4-8 season.
