Several teams throughout the ACC are looking to replace talent all over the field, but here are a few names that could make a big jump into an even bigger spotlight if their team wants to find success.

RailsRunning Back Cade Carney

Last Season: 156 attempts, 589 rushing yards, six touchdowns

Back in 2014, the Demon Deacons averaged only 40 yards per game.  They were able to increase that total to 105 yards per game in 2015 and increased it even more in 2016 (146 yards per game).  Now, with the experience and talent the staff has returning (nine starters returning), Wake Forest is looking to take that next step to be even a better offensive unit.

Sophomore running back Cade Carney should be one to watch if the Demon Deacons hope to do so, as the young back is hoping to increase his role this coming season.  Many have Carney pegged as the starting back but could still battle with junior Matt Colburn as well.

Last season, Carney rushed for 589 yards and was tied in rushing touchdowns with six.  However, he did miss games due to injuries.

Carney is a bruising young back, coming in at 215 pounds but also showcase elusiveness and speed that allows him to take it the distance.  The staff at Wake Forest is hoping that their offense can take another step forward in building back this program with the talent they have.  But Carney will be one to keep an eye on for 2017 and should be coming into the season as the lead running back for the Deacons.
