ACC Morning Linkfest 1/28

It would appear this Miami Hurricanes team is for real.  Miami took care of their in-state rival (although not exactly 8 miles down Tobacco road) Florida State, demolishing the Seminoles 71-47.  Six players scored at least 8 points and Trey McKinney Jones led the way with 15 points.

Shane Larkin's performance stood out to me once again as Miami's sophomore point guard finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.  The game has slowed down significantly for Larkin this season.  Larkin makes the right decisions, doesn't force passes, and knocks down open shots.  Oh by the way, it doesn't hurt to have so many weapons on the Miami Hurricanes roster.

The other game on Sunday featured Clemson hosting Virginia Tech.  Clemson jumped out to an early lead, but Virginia Tech fought back and made it a close game before the Tigers ultimately won 77-70.  Milton Jennings had perhaps his best game as a collegiate player with 28 points and 14 rebounds.  The story has been told over and over again about Jennings and his inconsistency and troubles off the court after coming in with such high expectations.  Hopefully, the senior big man can build off of this and finish his college career with more games like this.

No games tonight, but look for an Updated SCACCHoops.com Power 25 Poll coming in a bit.
