The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner – especially when it comes to festive sports fixtures! As we spend time celebrating with family, many of us will be enjoying the variety of sports that are still going ahead over the season. From the Christmas NFL matches to the Premier League kickstarting again after the World Cup break, there is plenty of excitement for us to get our teeth stuck into when we’ve tired of Christmas films, and festive specials. And it’s no doubt that sports fixtures over the winter period will give some of us the chance to place our bets and win a bit of cash! With sports betting in Ohio set to launch on January 1st, residents can try their hand when it comes to wagering on their favourite teams, to win a bit of cash, and create that extra bit of excitement! So, where do you start? Here are a few teams in both the NFL and Premier League that will be taking place over the festive season for you to enjoy.

Green Bay Packers Vs Miami Dolphins

Christmas Day NFL sees the Green Bay Packers head to the Miami Dolphins Hard Rock Stadium to go head-to-head on the 25th as part of week 16 in the 2022 season. Tune into Fox before tucking into your Christmas lunch to watch Aaron Rodgers take charge against the Dolphins’ very own quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. But will the Dolphins’ new and improved offense live up to expectations? Many are expecting this game to be high-scoring – so if excitement is what you’re looking for this Christmas Day, this could be the one to watch.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs Arizona Cardinals

Along with the Packers and the Dolphins, another of the two teams going head-to-head on the Big Day is the Buccaneers, who will travel to the Cardinals State Farm Stadium to see if their Quarterback Tom Brady can take on Cards Kyler Murray in a first-time showdown. With 20 years between them, it’s set to be the one to watch, with the emphasis set on some of the best wide receivers in the business. Will it be Brady or Murray that comes out on top this year?

Arsenal Vs West Ham

From one type of football to another, the Premier League kicks off on Boxing Day after a short break for the World Cup. With 10 matches to choose from over the course of the 26th, through to the 28th, there is something for everyone – whether your team is playing or not! Arsenal and West Ham go up against each other on Boxing Day, and with Arsenal starting the season strong and remaining on top of the table, fans will be eager to see how they’ve come back from the break, and if they can maintain their winning ways. With Jesus out with a knee injury, will it change the game and give West Ham the chance to get themselves some well-needed points? Those backing West Ham will be hoping Declan Rice has come back from the World Cup unscathed to try and take on the Gunners and come out on top.

Leeds Vs Man City

Taking place on the 28th, this match could be a great way to keep you entertained in that awkward stage between Christmas and New Year. It’s fair to say Leeds are not doing their best this year, at 15th in the table and only 4 wins – will they be able to stand a chance against one of the strongest teams in the league? With Erling Haaland fresh from a relaxing break after not attending the World Cup, along with most of their go-to squad on the way home early, this game could be a high scorer unless Leeds can pull something out of the bag.
