UNC showed that with youth comes inconsistency. A day after looking like a top 5 team against Mississippi State, UNC lost to Butler 82-71. UNC simply wasn't tough enough in the paint as Butler had a big advantage on the boards, allowing Butler to rebound 40% of their own misses and 75% of UNC's misses. The Bulldogs also made 12 three point shots, making 48% of their attempts from 3 point range. Check out our recap of UNC's loss to Butler here. UNC will play in the consolation game against tournament host Chaminade tonight.
In other ACC action, Virginia defeated North Texas 80-64 and Maryland (I guess I still have to mention them for now) defeated Lafayette 83-74.
Today Boston College takes on Auburn (KenPom #186), FSU plays North Florida (KenPom #173), and UNC plays Chaminade.
