The Hurricanes started fast, jumping out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter and not even a lengthy weather delay could slow them down on their way to victory. Carson Beck completed 23 of 28 passes for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns, and rushed for another touchdown in the game. Running Back Mark Fletcher Jr. carried the ball 16 times for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Wide Receiver Joshua Moore caught 2 passes, both of which were touchdowns. The Miami defense had 2 sacks, 1 interception and recovered 1 fumble in an excellent performance.

Only playing one half and one drive, Beck was 22 for 24 passing the ball for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver CJ Daniels caught five passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney caught six passes for 80 yards. Running back Mark Fletcher Jr. ran the ball 11 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Miami scored on seven of its eight offensive drives in the game.
