The Miami defense only allowed 70 total yards the remainder of the game, and the Hurricanes scored 35 second-half points. Running back Mark Fletcher had 23 carries for 106 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Malachi Toney had 138 all-purpose yards with two big punt returns. Stanford running back Cole Tabb had 64 yards on 19 carries.

Wide receiver Malachi Toney has been one of the biggest breakout stars of the 2025 season. Toney is one of three freshman wide receivers to lead his team in receptions and receiving yards. He got off to an incredible start of the season, becoming the first freshman since at least 2008 to lead his team in both receptions and receiving yards in each of the first two games of the season.
