Let's take a quick trip around the ACC to give some updates on player statuses as the ACC gets back on the court. Miami is in action tonight in the NIT against Valparaiso, but the Hurricanes are still unsure on the status of Durand Scott.
UM coach Jim Larranaga said Tuesday he has not heard any word regarding Scott's situation.
"Zero, nada, zilch. All the information we have, questions that were needed have been answered. Now you have to wait until the investigation is complete and the decision is made," he said.
If Scott isn't cleared by game time, sophomore Rion Brown will start in his place.
John Henson is questionable for UNC's first game of the NCAA Tournament against Lamar or Vermont. Based upon UNC's dealings with injuries this season, I'm betting Henson plays.
Henson hurt his left wrist on a fall during the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament in Atlanta. The 6-foot-10 forward didn't play the final two games of the tournament, though he dressed out for the championship game against Florida State.
"If I had to guess - and this is merely a guess - if the game were today he probably still would not play today," Williams said Tuesday. "But we're being hopeful that he will be Friday."
I'm less certain of Ryan Kelly's status for Duke, but the Blue Devils are hoping Kelly will practice on Thursday.
